While in Ennis Montana I head out with paints, camera, sketch book and Waders, no matter the temperature or time of day. These scenes are found all over the valley, yet the Madison Valley has, in my opinion some of the most lyrical trees in Montana. In creating this painting I wanted more expressive brushwork, thicker paint and a broader use of grays. I had such a good time painting this piece that I am already planning several more using the same technique.
